Adjustment disorder

A disorder in response to an identifiable stressor (e.g. major life change, bereavement, divorce) in which the person develops emotional or behavioral symptoms that are out of proportion to the severity of the stressor. Symptoms typically arise within one month of the stressor and do not persist beyond 6 months after the stressor ends.
