Schizophrenia, first episode, currently symptomatic

The first episode of schizophrenia is currently active – symptoms have met full diagnostic criteria within the past month. Delusions, hallucinations, or other symptoms are present and clearly evident in daily functioning. No previous episodes of this disorder have occurred. This diagnosis is applied at the onset of the illness.
