Schizophrenia, first episode

The first episode of schizophrenia in the individual's life – the disorder has not been diagnosed previously. Symptoms meet diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia for the first time. This specifier tracks the course from the point of first diagnosis. Current clinical status is specified as active, in partial remission, or in full remission.
