Schizophrenia, continuous

Characterized by a continuous course in which symptoms of schizophrenia have persisted almost without interruption throughout the illness, without distinct periods of remission. Severity may fluctuate, but symptoms do not remit sufficiently to be classified as remission. Current clinical status is specified as active episode, partial remission, or full remission. A continuous course indicates the need for ongoing treatment and long-term support.
