Secondary impulse control syndrome
A syndrome with features of impulse control disorder caused by an underlying medical or neurological condition (e.g. frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson disease, hypersexuality from dopamine agonists).
Symptoms
- Impulsive or compulsive behaviors caused by medical condition (also: secondary impulse control disorder, organic disinhibition, gambling from dopamine agonist, hypersexuality from neurological disease, impulsivity from frontal lobe damage)
- Onset or worsening linked to medical treatment or disease progression (also: impulse control worsening with medication, disinhibition from dopamine agonists, organic basis for impulsivity, impulsive behavior from Parkinson medication)
