Personality disorder

A disorder characterized by enduring disturbances in self-functioning (identity, self-worth, direction, goals) and/or interpersonal functioning, along with maladaptive patterns of cognition, emotional experience, emotional expression, and behavior. These patterns are relatively fixed across situations and time, and cause significant distress or functional impairment.

• Disturbed self-image and self-worth
• Unstable and conflictual interpersonal relationships
• Lack of clear goals, values, or life direction
• Impaired emotion regulation
• Rigid, maladaptive patterns across contexts
• Significant deviation from cultural norms
• Significant impairment of social/occupational functioning
• Persistent subjective distress
