Mood disorders
Mood disorders are conditions in which prolonged changes in emotional state – excessive euphoria, irritability, or profound sadness – disrupt daily life, work, relationships, and the capacity to experience pleasure. They include disorders in which mood alternates between poles (bipolar and related disorders) and those characterized primarily by depressed mood.
